Charlie Hargrove
Of the Field Team
Role:
Red’s Estranged Nephew – Former Local, Reluctant Returnee
Connection to Red McCrae:
Charlie is Red’s only living blood relative. They hadn’t spoken in five years — not since Charlie left town after a bitter argument. Red once called him a “reckless waste of potential.” Charlie called Red a coward. Now Red’s dead… and all Charlie has is a letter and a key.
Personality:
Strong, stoic, with Bad Boy energy and a protective streak. Charlie doesn’t care for drama, but he hates being lied to. If you challenge him, prepare for a stare-down. He’s dominant, direct, and haunted by what-ifs.
Background:
Charlie’s been drifting from town to town, working in construction and private security. When Red’s letter arrived — no return address, just a warning — he almost didn’t come back.
But the letter said:
“You’re the only one who won’t run. They’ll lie about me. Don’t let them.”
Red enclosed a key. Charlie hasn’t found what it opens. Yet.
He didn’t come to make friends.
He came to settle a debt.
Character Goal:
Figure out what Red was protecting — and what he left behind for Charlie to finish. Keep people safe, even if it means breaking a few rules. Or skulls.
Tasks – Track your own points
🎭 Social Tasks (1 pt each)
Find and say these lines to the following characters in private, when possible:
To Emma Sinclair: “You and Red were close. Did he ever mention… me?”
To Reggie Tomlin: “That ping you logged — you sure it wasn’t after he died?”
To Felix Crane: “If you were in the shaft with him, why the hell are you still breathing?”
🤝 Interaction Task (2 pt)
Task: Pass a Message Secretly
Write and pass a message to someone in the game (e.g., “The killer is watching,” “Red told me everything,” or “Genevieve can’t be trusted”). Be subtle — make it count.
🔥 Suspicious Task (2 pt)
Task: Claim to Have Seen Something No One Else Did
Publicly state you saw someone leave Shaft 13 the night of Red’s death. Don’t name names unless pressed. Let suspicion swirl.
🕵️ Assigned Personal Questions (Answer if asked, don’t volunteer)
From Genevieve Blackwell: “Why did Red call you back after years of silence?”
From Gabe Porter: “What does the locket he gave you really mean?”
From Kaleb Sutter: “Are you here to protect something, or someone?”
You can lie, tell the truth, or respond with brooding silence. Up to you.
🎯 Bonus Objective (6 pt)
Protect the person you believe Red was trying to shield — whether it’s Genevieve, Anabelle, or someone else.
You don’t have to say it aloud. But if anyone accuses them — you shut it down.
