Anabelle Carrington

Of the Field Team

Role:

Red’s Goddaughter – Out-of-Towner

Connection to Red McCrae:

Red was more than family — he was the only adult who believed in her growing up. They wrote letters for years. She called him “Uncle Red.” He always called her “Bright Eyes.” She hadn’t seen him in five years — until she got his final message.

Personality:

Empathetic, bold, and emotionally sharp. Anabelle is confident without being arrogant, unafraid to speak her truth, and grounded in what really matters: relationships, purpose, and justice. She’s not here for drama — but she won’t back down from it either.

Background:

Anabelle left Black Hollow for the city to pursue her own life, but when she received Red’s message, she dropped everything and came back. The note was short, handwritten, and full of fear:

“They’ve found it. You always knew how to read between the lines. You’re the only one I trust.”

She arrived two days before the murder.
Now Red is dead. And she’s starting to believe she was called back not to witness history — but to finish what Red started.

Character Goal:

Find the truth Red died protecting — and choose whether to expose it, or preserve the legacy he tried to leave her.

Tasks – Track your own points

🎭 Social Tasks (1 pt each)

Find and say these lines to the following people in-character and in private:

  • To Felix Crane: “You were the last one to see him. Tell me what really happened.”

  • To Sarah Talbot: “Red didn’t trust easily — why you?”

  • To Genevieve Blackwell: “If our fathers fought the same war… why do we seem like enemies?”

🤝 Interaction Task (2 pt)

Task: Lie About a Clue

You’ll be given a real clue (Red’s handwritten note). When someone asks, describe it incorrectly — change a key word or location. You may eventually reveal the truth… but only when it serves you.

🔥 Suspicious Task (2 pt)

Task: Intercept a Message Not Meant for You

If you see someone passing a note, intercept it. Read it quietly. You may keep or alter it — but don’t tell the original sender unless caught.

🕵️ Assigned Personal Questions (Answer if asked, don’t volunteer)

  1. From Jonah Briggs: “What did Red’s letter mean when it said 'read between the lines'?”

  2. From Kaleb Sutter: “Do you think Red left you something on purpose?”

  3. From Felix Crane: “Why did you come back after so long?”

Answer emotionally or cryptically — you can trust no one completely… except maybe Genevieve.

🎯 Bonus Objective (6 pt)

If the group discovers the real contents of Red’s letter, deny its meaning. Say it was metaphorical. Say he was losing his mind. Keep it from becoming proof.
If someone insists on decoding it — lead them to the wrong clue first.
