Felix Crane
Of the Field Team
Role:
Maintenance Tech – Veteran of the Deep Shafts
Connection to Red McCrae:
Red was the only supervisor who treated Felix like a real human — not just a laborer. Red covered for Felix during a safety violation that could’ve gotten him blacklisted. They worked nights together. Trusted each other. Until something in the dark changed that.
Personality:
Quiet. Tough. Keeps to himself. Felix speaks like every word has weight, and when he does talk, people listen. He's known for being reliable — until recently, when he started forgetting things.
Background:
Felix has worked underground his whole life. He knows every tunnel by feel. But lately, he's been losing time. Blackouts. Flashes. Strange dreams. Sometimes he wakes up already dressed for work.
The night before Red died, Felix remembers an argument. A hidden chamber. A heavy stone with carvings he couldn’t understand. Red said:
“We seal it or it seals us.”
Felix woke up in his bunk. Covered in dust. His boots muddy. Red was dead.
And he didn’t remember killing him.
Until now.
Character Goal:
Convince yourself — and everyone else — that you're just a guy with memory problems. All while quietly covering your tracks.
Tasks – Track your own points
🎭 Social Tasks (1 pt each)
Find and say these lines in-character when no one else is around:
To Anabelle Carrington: “You knew Red better than most. Did he say anything about… me?”
To Jonah Briggs: “If you release whatever you’re hiding, make sure it’s worth it.”
To Gabe Porter: “I know you’ve seen my name in those logs. Don’t make a big deal out of it.”
🤝 Interaction Task (2 pt)
Task: Pass a Message Secretly
Write a message like “Don’t trust Max” or “The killer is watching” and sneak it to another player. Bonus if they believe it.
🔥 Suspicious Task (2 pt)
Task: Perform a "Ritual" When No One Is Around
Whisper to the shaft wall or touch your forehead to cold stone while repeating a line from the Miner's Oath. Stay still. Hold tension.
If caught: freeze. Say “...It helps me remember.” Then walk away.
🕵️ Assigned Personal Questions (Answer if asked, don’t volunteer)
Make up half-truths. Be shaken. Or deflect with calmness. Your guilt is the drama. For ease - here are example answers, if you choose to use them is up to you.
- From Anabelle Carrington: “Why did Red stop trusting you toward the end?” “He didn’t stop trusting me — he started doubting himself. The deeper we went, the worse he got. Paranoid. Talking in riddles. One minute he was handing me maps and keys, the next he was saying I was ‘too close to it.’ I think he was scared of what we found, and I reminded him of that. That’s not mistrust — that’s fear.”
- From Brittany Vale: “Where did you find that carved stone?” I don’t actually know. I woke up after one of the blackout drills with it in my hand. No memory of grabbing it, no idea why I’d even take something like that. Thought it was just junk at first... then Red saw it and froze. Said, ‘You shouldn’t have that.’ Never explained why. After that, I kept it. Figured if it scared him that bad, it was worth holding onto.
- From Anabelle Carrington: “What do you remember from the night Red died?” …Not much. And I hate that. We talked — I remember that. Heated, but not hostile. He was... scared. Not of me — of the mine. Of what we’d seen.
🎯 Bonus Objective (6 pt)
Destroy the carved stone before anyone else finds it.
You can “hide” it (in a notebook, pocket, or under a prop), or pretend someone else stole it.
If someone asks about it directly, say:
“I don’t remember anything like that.”
