Issac Boone
Of the Control Team
Role:
Trauma Counselor – Brought in by Veritas Minerals
Connection to Red McCrae:
Issac was brought in after the mine's first tremor-related collapse to “support mental health.” Red didn’t want a shrink — but something changed. Three days before he died, he asked to speak with Issac privately. That conversation has haunted Issac ever since.
Personality:
Soft-spoken, empathic, and unnervingly perceptive. Issac sees what others try to hide — pain, lies, fear. He’s the calm in the chaos… unless someone threatens the people he’s quietly protecting.
Background:
Issac specializes in post-trauma intervention. He’s worked disasters, war zones, and sites where the ground bleeds memory. This town? It's different. The trauma here isn’t just emotional — it’s generational.
Red confided in Issac shortly before his death. He spoke of “breathing walls,” “a sound only the mine knows,” and most terrifying of all:
“If I go missing, don’t treat it like grief. Treat it like evidence.”
Now Red is dead.
Issac has seen this before.
It’s not just a murder. It’s a pattern.
Character Goal:
Uncover who Red feared. Protect those unraveling. And if the mine is affecting people’s minds — stop it from claiming more.
Tasks – Track your own points
🎭 Social Tasks (1 pt each)
Locate and speak these lines in private:
To Sarah Talbot: “If Red left you the medallion… what else did he leave unspoken?”
To Emma Sinclair: “Memory gaps aren’t just psychological. You and I both know that.”
To Felix Crane: “Whatever you saw down there — it didn’t follow you out, did it?”
🤝 Interaction Task (2 pt)
Task: Confront Someone You Suspect
Choose a player and publicly accuse them of hiding trauma-related evidence or mental instability. Base it on a “diagnosis,” real or false.
🔥 Suspicious Task (2 pt)
Task: Perform a “Ritual” When No One Is Around
Whisper the Miner's Oath aloud to the walls near Shaft 13 or touch your hand to the black-marked pipe for 10 seconds.
If caught, deny everything. Say it’s “trauma processing.”
Miner’s Oath:
“I swear my light, my lungs, my life / To walk where others fear the night…”
🕵️ Assigned Personal Questions (Answer if asked, don’t volunteer)
From Felix Crane: “Are the hallucinations something you’ve seen before?”
From Emma Sinclair: “What was in that note you received after the funeral?”
From Sarah Talbot: “Why did Red call for a trauma counselor?”
Note: If you get asked about the logbook
Answer in-character. Stay calm. Or don’t.
🎯 Bonus Objective (6 pt)
If anyone accuses you of tampering with therapy records or hallucinating yourself — flip the accusation. Use empathy or psycho-babble to make them question their own sanity.
Bonus if you get someone else to admit to hearing or seeing something "impossible."
